Meatotomy

The surgical operation named “Meatotomy” is performed opening the external urinary meatus, thus leaving the new urethral opening further down, along the ventral surface of the penis.
Meatotomy may be necessary:

  • In patients presenting meatal stenosis caused by genital lichen sclerosus
  • In patients presenting meatal stenosis due to failed hypospadias repair
